Digitalized financial services are a real opportunity that MFIs offer to populations living in difficult-to-access areas, innovative and secure financial and non-financial services to carry out transactions without going to agencies. In terms of digitalization of processes, SFDs are faced with difficulties linked to their information and management system, their infrastructure, the skills of internal resources and the acceptance of change. The high cost of digital projects is another barrier because they involve numerous logistical and technical prerequisites that are often costly. Faced with this observation and in accordance with its mission to provide MFIs with financing lines coupled with technical assistance in order to increase their capacity to sustainably finance the activities of SMEs, particularly in rural areas; MEREF-SFD with its partner CARE Mali through THE FEED THE FUTURE MALI SUGU YIRIWA ACTIVITY have designed the digital transformation program for the credit process intended for partner SFDs operating in the eight circles of the Mopti region (Mopti, Bandiagara, Bankass , Koro, Douentza, Tenenkou, Djenné and Youwarou) and four circles in the Timbuktu region (Timbuktu, Goundam, Nianfunké and Diré), Bamako and surrounding areas. The overall objective of this program is to promote access to credit for targets living in difficult-to-access areas and therefore accelerate the development of financial inclusion. To do this, the Digital Access to Credit program consists of supporting MFIs operating in the above-mentioned areas in the development and implementation of their digital strategy to improve financial and social performance and thus open up new opportunities for the targets.
